The death of King Chairacha in 1547 set in motion a series of events that would result in a region-spanning conflict between ambitious dynasts hoping to leave their mark on Southeast Asian history. The kings of Burma, Ayutthaya, Lan Xang and Cambodia vied for power, influence and the right to call themselves “Chakravartin” – Pali “Chakkavati” – Wheel Turning Kings.

The conflict would span decades, reaching a climax in a great war that would only end with the strongest king standing. The question was: Who would be victorious? And what would happen to the losers?
